Know your ISO Standard Part 1
What is the ISO 9001 Standard?

What ISO the 9000 Family of Standards?
So what is ISO 9001 then?
Within the Family of standards, it is the ISO 9001 standard that sets out the criteria for a quality management system. This is also the only standard in the ISO 9001 family which you can certify your company’s QMS system against. Please note, that ISO 9001 is a Quality Management System standard, and not a “Product Certification” standard.
The ISO 9001 standard is based on 7 Quality Management Principles which include:
* Customer Focus
* Leadership
* Engagement of People
* A Process Approach
* Improvement
* Evidence based decision making
* Relationship Management
Implementing these Management Principles in your organization will help ensure that your customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, which in turn should bring many business benefits to you.
